Lynn Drury

Mississippi native Lynn Drury moved to New Orleans in 1995 with the dream of becoming a singer/songwriter.  Picking up the guitar in 1996, she hit the ground running and began performing coffee shops and clubs, landing a weekly at Margaritaville in 1998 where she cut her teeth not only as a singer and songwriter, but also as an entertainer.  Over 25 years later …

Ruby Masters, Offbeat - “Throughout, Drury conveys the feelings of a strong, independent woman who refuses to be thrown out of the saddle, but at the same time, she has warmth that is stirring and inviting. It is this combination of softness and strength that makes Drury’s music intriguing and beautiful.”

Rachel Cholst, No Depression – “Drury’s got a refreshing earthiness to her voice that give her songs warmth while her backing band of New Orleans all-stars adds a shot of slinky Tabasco sauce to the otherwise Shiner-fueled twang.”

Keith Spera, New Orleans Advocate -  “A Mississippi native, Lynn Drury has carved out a place for herself within the New Orleans music community as an Americana singer-songwriter drawing on country, folk and local rhythms and grooves."

With her catchy melodies and burnished voice, Drury has been called "A one woman army of soul" - Caleb Guillotte - Her unique style is the product of her country music raisin' mixed with her love R&B and Pop, and twenty plus years of soaking up the sounds of the Crescent City.   She started out calling her music, "Mississippi Grit, New Orleans Groove," settling finally on "NOLAmericana". Over the past two decades, that meticulously cultivated style – NOLAmericana – has brought Drury’s original music to stages all over the world.  With a distinctive voice, this is definitive New Orleans Americana songstress has created her own sound in a city that, as well, moves to its own groove.

In her 25+ years living and performing in New Orleans, Drury has collaborated with countless NOLA legends and stalwart musicians.  Her band on this tour have backed musicians like Dr John, Lenny Kravitz, Anders Osborne, Ellis Marsalis, and been in bands like Bonerama and The Iguanas, to name a few - John Fohl lead guitar, Eric Bolivar drums, Rene Coman bass.  Gotta admit, it’s pretty ballsy to pronounce to the world you’ve got your very own genre - NOLAmericana.  Suffice it to say, Drury’s ballsy, damn ballsy.  If you’re still trying to figure out what NOLAmericana is all about … this rhythm section is supremely suited to bring it boldly into life.

Janet Batch

One part Stevie Nicks, two parts Johnny Cash, singer-songwriter Janet Batch hails from New York’s Finger Lakes region. Her music has been described as “country with an art degree". Janet writes songs for the working class, while hinting at the hardscrabble stories of her youth in the Rust Belt. Her lyrics point to an affinity for poetry and prose and are a sweet surprise to those lucky enough to listen.

“You Be The Wolf" CD release party!!!   Janet Batch – Steals the show!!!   ZERO to 60 in a heartbeat. From unknown to LOVED in mere minutes. The crowd was dancing up a storm and singing along to songs they never heard of before.  “You Be The Wolf” captures everything from classic country waltzes, to boot stomping two-steps, tempering true stories with bits of craft, wit and embellishment.
