Sci-fi fusion trio Consider the Source defy easy categorization. If intergalactic energy beings, upon their initiation into an order of whirling dervishes, built a pan-dimensional booty-shaking engine powered by psychedelic math…it would sound like a cut-rate CTS cover band. With their blend of progressive rock and improvisatory jazz, soaked in Indian and Middle Eastern styles, CTS blends disparate elements into an utterly original whole. A relentless touring schedule has earned them a fervent following around the world, with fans ranging from tie dye covered hippies to metalheads decked out in black.

HAILING FROM LONG ISLAND, NY, MJT IS A BAND OF BROTHERS WHO GOT THEIR START PLAYING JAZZ WITH THE YOUNGEST BEING 6 AND THE ELDEST 13. IN 2007 THESE THREE BROTHERS TOOK WHATEVER INSTRUMENTS THEY HAD AVAILABLE TO THEM AND BEGAN TO PERFORM OUTSIDE THEIR LOCAL 7-11 FOR WHOEVER WOULD LISTEN. DRAWING INSPIRATION FROM ARTISTS LIKE HERBIE HANCOCK, JOHN COLTRANE, WEATHER REPORT, BOOKER T, AND OTHERS, THEY WENT ON TO PERFORM SUCH VENUES AS THE APOLLO THEATER, RYE PLAY LAND, OHEKA CASTLE, AND LONG ISLANDS FAMED EAST END WINERIES. THE BROTHERS KEPT PERFECTING THEIR JAZZ FUSION SOUND UNTIL CIRCA. 2014 WHEN THEY DECIDED TO COMPLETELY OVERHAUL THEIR IDENTITY AND MOVE IN THE DIRECTION OF HIGH ENERGY ROCK AND ROLL. DESPITE INITIALLY HAVING MORE OF A GRUNGE SOUND, THE BAND NEVER STOPPED FINE TUNING THEIR SOUND TO TRY AND MELD THEIR JAZZ BACKGROUND WITH THEIR NEWLY FOUND ROCK INFLUENCE. BETWEEN 2015-17 THE BROTHERS RECORDED AND RELEASED THREE EPS AND EMBARKED ON THEIR FIRST TOUR HITTING SXSW AND MANY OTHER VENUES ACROSS THE US. IN RECENT DAYS THEY HAVE BEEN HARD AT WORK ON THEIR FIRST FULL LENGTH LP AND FURTHER POLISHING OF THEIR EXTREMELY UNIQUE SOUND WHILE ALSO BACKING UP FORMER MEMBER OF THE LONDON SOULS, TASH NEAL. MATT GODFREY, DAVID GODFREY AND JO GODFREY ARE THE KIND OF MUSICIANS THAT PLAY BECAUSE THEY LOVE IT MORE THAN ANYTHING AND THE KIND OF ARTISTS THAT CREATE BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE.
